Wine Club Open House

Saturday we went up to Sonoma for an event that the winery we're members of was having, their annual open house.
We got t0 sample some great wines and Italian food and enjoy a beautiful sunny day as well. Since we're so close to wine country, we opted to pick up our member shipments and this weekend we got our first batch. We loved all the wine so much though and they were offering members such good deals, we ended up coming home with a few more bottles than we anticipated. Next people to come visit us will have a very nice time.

Here are some pictures of us enjoying our day and the pretty scenery.

60 Weeks in San Francisco

152 weeks down, 60 more to go...This past week Michael matched at a fellowship program at the University of Washington. So that means next summer we will be moving to Seattle. We've so enjoyed our time in San Francisco but there are many things we haven't done yet in the Bay Area that we want to do. We've decided to start this blog to keep track of the list of things we want to be sure to do over the next 60 weeks before we leave.

Today we had a nice long walk in our neighborhood - Mission District - on a beautiful day. We happened by a great little Italian deli, Lucca's.

We saw some homemade fresh garlic cheesy bread that we just had to have. They also have lots of different freshly made pastas and sauces so we picked up some spinach ravioli and mushroom sauce for later this week.

We stopped off at Dolores Park for a bit and marveled in the beautiful views of the city while catching up with one another since we hadn't been able to since Mandi's return from Japan and Michael's eventful match day. This park is always packed on any remotely nice day, love it!

One of our favorite parts of living in this area is the abundance of little Mexican markets. They have fruits & veggies for SO cheap, best place ever to go for making homemade salsas. A friend from one of our works had also told us about a great meat market in the area so we stopped by there today as well.

They had more options than we ever wanted to see (do you have any idea how large a cow's heart is???). We settled on some cod fish, brought it home and blackened it, tossed some veggies on the grill, heated up the garlic bread and had a great dinner at home.

We've started to put together a list of places/things we want to be sure to do before next summer, we'll post that soon - please add comments with suggestions to add to it if you have them.

Next weekend we're heading up to Sonoma for a party.
